Biography

Sara G Jaramillo was born in Barquisimeto city of Venezuela.

daughter of Colombian immigrants. She get the degree of Dentistry at Central University Of Venezuela-UCV-Caracas-1983.

For 15 years she practiced dentistry in the area of restoration and esthetics. Since 2000 she started studies in goldsmiths at the Escuela Artes del Fuego in Venezuela- AVAF, with recognized professors in Venezuela such as Julio Mota, Rosita Falena and Conchita Cano.

In 2004, she complements her knowledge with studies of Sculpture and Plastic Arts in the workshop of Blanca Lemoine.
She currently lives in Bogotá city of Colombia, exclusively dedicated to the sculpture in Op- Art

 

THE ARTISTIC WORK OF SARA G JARAMILLO:

Sara G Jaramillo pieces are inspired by the mythical an ancestral Latin American indigenous roots. Each piece has a particular focus on the artistic transformation of metalsmith’s work in motion with Op Art. Her Art refers us to the perennial, the transcendental, creating an unique effect of old content transformed with his self-sufficiency, language and form. The strength of her work is the spatial context of sculpture and jewelry, both as conductors to appreciate the environment and its purpose. The strength of metals reflect a transformation that allows the Observer to be involved in its creation and Op-Art plays with brightness, volume and ubiquity, giving each person different interpretation.

Mrs. Jaramillo sculptural language is expressed in the infinite possibilities of the symbolic representation of forms that emerge with high quality technological rigor in varied applications. Everything works as a strategy in the understanding of this heterogeneity of elements open to the creative impulse of the artist. Her work is full of research, technical skills and conceptual strength that play with modernity. Her art becomes an enjoyment of the beauty and pleasure for the Viewer.
